Great beginning Java book

This book is a great beginner's guide to Java programming. I've been wanting to take a Java class for a while, but life has gotten in the way. This book has given me a much better start than I would've been able to get on my own. I work in application support, and as our team has started supporting more and more Java apps, it was critical that I gain knowledge in Java to do my job properly. I still a fairly slow at supporting the code we support, but I now have much more confidence that I can dig in and find issues in the code.

Detailed and Easy to Understand

I haven't checked out any other Java books, but this one seems to cover all the bases. The only complaint I have is that some of the topics are covered on the book's website instead of in the book. Other than that, I have had an easy time learning a lot of good stuff about Java with this book! I would certainly recommend it to a friend.
