Reviewers are missing a big point!
By Doug Roberts, Author
These reviewers are 'straining out gnats and swallowing camels.' Apart from whether every niggling point about the author is true or not, there is a larger truth here that people need to know about: That is that the U.S. had a military presence in Iran during the time of the Shah, and the Shah had a bad ass secret police.
I know because I worked at the the Shah's Supreme Commanders Staff (Sitade Buzurgh) in the classified message center while I was stationed in Tehran, Iran as a draftee in the U.S. Army.
I wrote my own book about this: The Man Who Fooled SAVAK.

Questionable At Best
By A Customer
When a supposedly nonfiction book is suspiciously full of encounters which cannot be corroborated, as this one is, the credibility of the author becomes understandably questionable. The author, Mansur Rafizadeh, by his own account, is a person whose convictions and actions are diametrically opposed. First, he writes that as a student, he was opposed to the Shah of Iran and his government, and because of that opposition he was incarcerated and tortured. Next, he inexplicably joined Savak, the secret police, despite his political views, serving there many years and rising to become the chief of Savak in the United States. In that capacity, he became privy to many "secrets" of primarily sexual nature. In fact, Rafizadeh reveals his obsession with sex by providing detailed accounts of his visits to brothels in Tehran and a supposed affair with a nun in the United States. He recalls many juicy conversations with high ranking members of the government, all of whom are dead by the time this book is released and thus unable to corroborate, or more importantly, refute, Rafizadeh's version of events. His failure to establish credibility results in a book that is of very little value as a historical reference.

Untruthful, Shameful documentary
By A Customer
...Mr. Rafizadeh, fails to provide a shred of truth to the accounts of his own meetings with the Shah....If one wishes to know the history behind the SHAH and his achievement for his country, Iran, I do not recommend this book. It is a figment of one's dirty imagination.
