Terrible Print Job

Looks like they printed out a PDF of the book that was originally scanned-in onto magnetic tape in the 80's, except that their printer could only take 3.5" floppy's, so they turned up the JPEG compression to the max, in order to get it to fit the 1.4 Mb disk size. Then painstakingly glued the whole mess into a decent looking soft cover binding.

Must take a lot of manual labor, hand cranking that printer, which explains the exorbitant price.

The textbook is good, but despite so many editions is full of mistakes (mainly the statistical exercises). For the price you would expect this book to be perfect.

Horrible printing

I'm terribly disappointed with this textbook. It looked like copies were made from copies of copies of the hardback version on an office copy machine. (No, I did not accidentally put too many 'copies' in that last sentence.) Some of the pages were crooked and the text quality was very poor. I expect a lot more for $170. This was not a single copy problem. I exchanged my first copy for a second one that was just the same. In the end I rented a hardback copy from elsewhere.

This is the most comprehensive text written in the field of massage therapy. It is a detailed and complete guide to the assessment and treatment of the majority of conditions that we as therapists are faced with.

Canadian massage therapy education is above and beyond most in the world and certainly within North America. This is one of our required texts and the foundation for our treatment based approach to healing. These authors have been instrumental in the advancement of Canadian therapist education and the development and elevation of our standards of practice.

I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to improve their massage therapy knowledge and gain a treatment based focus to their work.

Too Wordy and unorganized

This book is known as the "bible" for Clinical Massage Therapist. For sure, Rattray knows clinical massage, but she doesn't convey it very well in this format. It too wordy...just a bunch of unneccesary info. She really could have gotten to the point and written this book on a lot less paper. You can't find some information contained in the book in the index or table of contents. It's frustrating. You find yourself flipping through a bunch of pages trying to locate material needed. I had to take this book apart and put it into a binder, after getting rid of the excess. The book is thick, bulky and the cover is paper, and not reinforced paper or cardboard. It will not hold up well as a constant reference tool. The paper it's written on is thin. If you purchase it, be prepared to take it apart or be frustrated. You can get this one cheaper than the asking price of these sellers. This book is not for a beginner, unless you have an instructor to guide you.

Hans Urs von Balthasar (1905-88), a Swiss theologian and priest, is considered by many the most important Catholic theologian of the twentieth century. an absolute beauty

in this short meditation on the apostle's creed, von balthasar gives us a summary of his own theolgy, firmly based in the Trinity and Fatherhood of God; firmly Catholic and saturated in the orthodox doctrine of the Church. it's too bad that this book wasn't five hundred pages, but the strength of this book and the Truth to which it points can, i think, best be sought and got in prayer; a truth which von balthasar new well enough. this book is an absolute beauty, and i highly recommend it.

The author discusses the Creed by analizing each line with a depth one wouldn't expect from such a short book. This is definitely a quick and easy read, but it's also deep in meaning. You will gain a deeper understanding of the Creed by reading, and all things considered, this is well worth your money.

The material is pretty much unchanged, but the chapters are organized differently and may cause problems..so make sure you now what you're buying.

For a brief book this title summarizes very well topics which the larger books tend to present in academically interesting ways but which tax the limited time of busy clinicians who just need quick refreshers. Likewise, this book presents relevant clinical material often missed by the pocket books. Eg., transfusion practices and the "electronic" crossmatch; current perioperative fluid strategies (restricted volume); LR for CKD patients w/ slightly elevated K, etc. Well worth the price. Marion D. Hanks' "Preparation for Prayer" reviews different activities that ready the heart, mind, and spirit for meaningful prayer. He reviews examples from the lives of Enos, Nephi, Oliver Cowdery and Moroni. Hanks reviews a number of activities, ranging from thoughtfully thinking through our problems and their potential solutions to contemplating the beauty of the natural world.

Neal A. Maxwell's "What Should We Pray For?" explores the range of topics possible in the conversation of prayer. He emphasizes the importance of being in tune with the Spirit so that we can be inspired to pray for those things we need most. We are reminded of the importance and purposes of praying for the welfare of others.

Hartman Rector, Jr.'s "Our Prayers in Public" discusses the responsibilities of praying on behalf of others in a group setting. It is most appropriate to speak in harmony with the feelings of the group, expressing gratitude and making requests that reflect the meeting or activity the group is engaged in. Flowery language or personal matters should be avoided.

These are well-written articles that contain some genuine insights into the nature of prayer. They are worthy of thoughtful consideration.

I enjoyed all the talks in this book. They cover many subjects related to prayer; such as the words we use to pray, family prayer, the power of prayer, and great people who have prayed. Many of the talks contained quotes I have heard people say before but I had not read where they came from. I enjoyed the thoughts and insights in this book. The book also contains a contents page and index to help you look for specific topics.

I purchased this book a couple of years ago at a bookstore that I worked at. It is an absolutely wonderful book on this subject "Prayer". It is a must for those of you who want to be more in tune with our Father in Heaven. The authors are all inspired men and in tune with Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. The contents will help the reader also become more in tune with our Heavenly Father and the importance of prayer and why communicating with our Father in Heaven is something that He wants us to do.

If you are a student going for Vet Tech, get this book because it will give you a leg up in your diagnostics classes. This book should be a required book for all Vet Tech students, because it provides valuable information that will be on the boards in a neat easy to read text book.

I use this book in my animal diseases class. It is very complete and has good illustrations to compliment the text. It has an easy to navigate glossary and index, which helps in looking up specific parasites.
